It’s been a little while since Stillwaters Bookkeeping Limited became official. The logos are updated, the emails are switched over, and the branding now reflects a fresh season. But honestly? This shift has been about so much more than a name.
When I first felt the nudge to move on from Time Creator VA Services, I knew it wasn’t just a business decision. It was a heart decision. A deeper alignment with who I am, what I value, and how I want to serve. I wanted a name that didn’t just sound right—but felt right. One that would carry meaning. Something that could speak on my behalf, even before I said a word.
Inspired by Psalm 23:2—
“He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul.”
—I wanted that same kind of peace to anchor my business. Stillwaters became more than a name. It became a vision. A way of working. A quiet invitation to build something steady, purposeful, and rooted in faith.
But let me be honest with you—change, even the exciting kind, has a way of shaking things up. It wasn’t all smooth sailing. Between updating systems, rewriting email signatures, managing platforms, informing clients, and still doing the actual work (hello year-end and GST) Picture this (Matthew 14:22-23)—Peter, one of Jesus' disciples, steps out of the boat right into the middle of a raging storm. As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, he did the impossible—walking on water. But the second he got caught up in the chaos around him, doubt crept in, and he started sinking.
Honestly, I’ve had my own Peter moments, especially with this business—since it is part of God’s ministry for me. When I took my eyes off Him, it felt like I was drowning, overwhelmed by everything going on. But every time I refocused on Him, there was peace, even in the storm. It’s a reminder I keep coming back to.
There were moments when I questioned the timing. Wondered if I should have waited. Asked myself if it was too much, too soon. But that’s the thing about stepping into your next chapter—you won’t always feel ready. Even though I had my doubts, it was turning into God’s voice, and not my own, and trust in His plan.
And in that movement, I found something beautiful:
Peace
Grace.
Provision.
And a deeper trust in God’s timing.
NKJV Isaiah 43:2 "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.'
That verse has met me more than once over the past few months. Because I wasn’t just navigating change—I was learning to let go of what was and lean fully into what’s next.
And I didn’t do it alone.
My clients? You’ve been absolute gems. Your encouragement, patience, and the way you embraced the new name with me—it meant everything. You reminded me that people don’t just work with a brand; they trust a person. And that trust doesn’t just survive change—it grows through it.
So, to every single person who’s been part of this shift—thank you. Thank you for being steady when I was re-orienting. Thank you for asking good questions, for sending kind words, and for continuing to walk this journey with me.
These past few weeks have brought more than rebranding. They've brought clarity. Confidence. A sense of renewed purpose that’s hard to put into words, but I’ll try:
I feel like I’ve finally arrived where I was always meant to be in my professional life.
This work—helping others bring order and calm to their financial world—isn’t just something I’ve learned to do. It’s something I was made to do. And by the grace of God, it’s something I want to do well.
If you're in a season of change too, I want to leave you with this: Align yourself with your cause. Trust that quiet nudge. Take the next step in faith. Because when you're walking in your purpose with faith, even the rough waters cannot overcome you. Even the uncertain moments become part of the success story.
And if you're ever wondering what bookkeeping has to do with calling and clarity—well, more than you think. It’s not just about the numbers. It’s about the peace those numbers can bring when you know they’re being cared for with intention, love, and integrity.
Also—if there's a topic, you're curious about, or something bookkeeping-related you’d love to hear more on in my next blog—please reach out. Say hi. I’m always open for a good ol’ chat.
Here’s to calm seas, clear books, and work that feels like worship.
With gratitude and grace,
Elizna
